So. I assume that, by now, we are all well aware that to reach X level you need Y platinum medallions. Which is fun. So fun. I can definitely reach Battle Girl and get those 4000 gym battles...someday. Or those 15,000 berries fed to pokemon in gyms. Eventually. Before the heat death of the universe. And let's not forget that the last Hisui pokemon has literally not been released yet.

Vivillion is "supposed to be" one of the easiest platinums you can get. Or is it? Maybe? If you can get someone in other regions to send you three gifts per region. But some regions are rare! And some regions are overrepresented with players.

Thanks to the international nature of fandom, I've only needed r/VivillionCollectors for my Sandstorm, but and I'm hoping to get Tundra from someone off Facebook. But we'll see if they ever send me gifts to open.

But if you're hoping to get that "cover 100,000 km across all Pokemon trades," then you'll want to get to tier 5 friendship with worldwide friends and start trading with those lovely folks. Because that will open remote trading every 90 days.

I'm certain someone will want some of those Tauros I've got stashed away. Right. Right?

I almost always get Elegant from Mateo. I guess people are doing a lot of routes in Japan.

In a pinch you can use an app like Raid Plaza to get a bot sent you a postcard from the region you need.

Fun fact, Pokémon hatched from eggs you get in gifts count as being "from" the region the gift was from! So a gift sent from Germany will hatch a 'mon that registers as being from Germany, an egg from Australia will get a 'mon from Australia, etc. It's still all the same egg pool, but it can help boost the "Cover 100,000 km across all trades" numbers!
