Plans for the Upcoming Piloswine Community Day?

With Piloswine Community Day just around the corner (February 16), I'm curious as to everyone's plans are for the event. Mamoswine is the first of the community day pokemon to require an evolution item to evolve, and Sinnoh Stones can be fairly hard to come by. Not to mention despite all the hype over Mamoswine as a top Ice attacker it seems Mamoswine's exclusive move will be the rock-type Ancient Power...

I'm hoping to get a good Pilowswine to evolve, but I'm not that interested in Rock-type Ancient Power? But maybe I'll get TWO good Piloswine, then one can have Ancient Power, and I'll try to get an ice move for the other.

HOWEVER, isn't Piloswine just a 5km buddy? It shouldn't be that expensive to buy a second Charged attack for Mamoswine, and have that be the Ice move.

Yeah, I'll be hunting for high-level/good state Swinubs and shinies, but the best ones will obviously become Ice attackers so they don't need to be evolved in the window. I'll prob evolve a mediocre shiny with Ancient Power just for the legacy/novelty, at least, maybe a couple others. Fortunately I have plenty of Sinnoh stones saved up by now, not to mention the five guaranteed we can get that day.

it's gonna be rainy and cold so i'm going to take it easy and just try to get a few shinies. i've been lucky with stones, i have six in my bag rn and i've got all available pokes evolved. so i will have plenty. i'll do as many extra battles as i can, since i can do those inside :)

I *think* they just confirmed that the extra sinnoh stones are *all day* and not just within the three-hour window, so I think I'm going to try and get down to our meeting spot early (I normally rock up late) to see if I can get anyone to fight me five times before we kick off.

I'm going to evolve up at least one - and a shiny if I get one or more - with Ancient Power, but I'm not planning on a set of 6 or anything. Maybe a couple of low CP ones to trade to the PVP fans ...

Yeah, that's how it's *supposed* to work (as long as they don't screw anything up) - guaranteed stones for PVP and team leader battles any time on the day of your CD hours. Also, it appears that the higher number of rewards (but not guaranteed stones) actually went live today (Friday), so try to get in some extra battles today as well.

Meanwhile they also recently announced that Ancient Power will become a move that has a chance to boost stats - but only in PVP for now. Still, probably worth evolving a few to have it in case it turns out to be really good and/or gets expanded use later. It can always be TM'd away if not.
