Hi, Pokestop people. There's been a lot going on in the past couple of weeks, between the Hoenn takeover event, the Valentine event, the Lunar New Year event, Dratini Day Community Day, and Legendary Week!

How's your PoGo experience been shaking out recently?

Working backwards, today's Community Day treated me *very* well - we had practically perfect weather (cold, but sunny and periodically windy, for all important weather boosts), lots of familiar faces and good conversations, and I accomplished all my Dratini goals for the session - caught 140, which got me my gold Dragon-type badge, including six shinies, of which one "wonder", so I have the set of Shiny Dratini, Dragonair, Dragonite, plus a regular 'wonder' Dragonite with the event-specific Charge move, who's now clocking in at #3 in my CP list. I think everyone got at least one shiny, and someone in our party got a 100% IV dratini as a shiny! We did a batch of raids afterwards (in the hope we might trigger an ex-raid) so I'm up an Absol and a Kyogre. I was out walking from 9.30 - 3.30, so there's also been some hatching going on (unfortunately, my 10k hatched about 30 seconds after my last Star Piece expired, but that's literally the only thing that I could complain about!)

The Lunar New Year event was a bit trickier for me - although the base idea made me smile. I was low on time to play, and largely in areas without pokestops, so I completely ran out of regular and great balls before the end. No shiny puppies for me ;(

The Valentine event was just wall-to-wall Luvdiscs for me, and not a shiny in sight. However, I did significantly improve my one-handed curve ball, at least for critters about the same size as a Luvdisc, which can only be a good thing.

The Hoenn event didn't deliver unto me any of the promised strong Hoenn pokemon (Salamence, Altaria, Metagross) but did substantially flesh out my Pokedex, and I have a handful now where I have enough candy to evolve as soon as I have a decent individual to use them on. The 6-hour lures were awesome - you can see a *lot* of pokestops from my work, and at 10am on a Monday morning they were all lured, which is quite the sight to see, and gave me some productive from-desk catching on my breaks as well. (Something in the GPS has changed slightly, so it's more stable, which pins me - stably - just out of reach of all the pokestops closest to my workplace, but close enough to get the 'mon, just not the spins.)

In between all this, I got an "apology" pass for the bug-generated raid invite, which means I actually *caught* a MewTwo!

My current stats are Caught 327, Seen 359, with a 147/95/85 split, and I'm past the halfway point on Level 36.

I was at work, but I still managed to catch enough Dratinis to actually evolve one and now finally have a Dragonair! (I caught a small Dragonite previously).

I caught nine shiny Dratini in the two hours I was out for Community Day. I feel like a rock star. None of them were Wonderous, but the first one I caught was Attention-Catching, which turned out to be my best for stats. I evolved it and my two best Above Averages; I'm keeping my best one (I named her Kazul), and am holding onto the other two as trade potentials in the future. None of my others were particularly remarkable. I evolved six Dragonite in total, with the extras again for potential trading.

I managed to get on a Raid Train last Sunday, and caught two Rayquaza; that brings my total up to three. I'm very excited about the return of Groudon and Kyogre, because I didn't manage to catch either of those in their first runs; really, I didn't even manage to get to a single Groudon raid, and only made it to two Kyogre raids total, so that's not terribly surprising.

As a treat to myself yesterday to make up for a hellish eleven hour shift at work, I splurged and got the entire Team Rainbow Rocket outfit :P I never particularly wanted to join Team Rocket, unlike a lot of my peers, so I'm telling myself that my avatar is infiltrating the organization to help bring it down from the inside.

My PokeGo Plus is working pretty darn great. I've set it so it only activates for stops, not 'mon, since I get paranoid that I'll miss something good if it's set for Pokemon, and it goes for 'mon first if it's set for both. I like getting items first better anyway. The GPS is a little weird on it; I've managed to hit stops that have traditionally been just out of range for me while in a car, and sometimes at least ten seconds after they should be out of range. That said, the Plus also regularly misses some stops that I know for a fact I'm in range of, so I guess it's a mixed bag.

That said, it's been pretty great for me when it comes to hatching eggs; I bought a bunch of Super Incubators when they were available for the egg event and am now on my last hatch for my last incubator.

My dex is at 331 Caught/347 Seen, with a 146/90/95 split. I'm over half-way to level 34.

My ability to play has been temporarily hampered due to a foot injury. Nothing's broken but I need a crutch to walk with and the local snail population is currently moving around faster than I am. *sigh*

A very lovely friend took my phone out for a couple of days in a row to spin a Pokéstop for me so that I didn't lose my seven day streak. And my very patient husband, who does not play at all, took me into town on Saturday for Community Day. It was far too cold to sit outside but the local Starbucks has two Pokéstops that can be reached from the shop so I hobbled up and down and lured both of those up, much to the joy of the small group of teens sat nearby who were also trying to play in the warm :)

For some reason the GPS on my phone gets confused as soon as I stop moving at the moment so I managed to catch a couple of shiny Dratini, enough others to make my gold badge and evolve a 93% IV Dratini with the Draco Meteorite move... and hatch a 5K egg while sitting still! So there wasn't a lot of community interaction for me but I finally got my dragon badge.

Gret to hear that your injury didn't stop you participating entirely, and hurray for your friend and your husband for helping you out ;) Here's to a swift recovery!

Community day was a joy. We had gorgeous weather, and I went to a botanic garden a little ways off with a friend. The first Dratini she clicked on was shiny! Not too much later she got another shiny from incense, and caught another wild. I was super happy for her but also got pretty stressed when I still hadn't seen a shiny almost 2.5 hours in... but then in the last half hour I got three! So, all good, I evolved one of each stage shiny and another regular Dragonite with good stats for the Draco Meteor. It was a fantastic day.

Earlier on, I did manage to snag one shiny Luvdisc during the Valentine event, and a Swablu (Swayellow?) during the Hoenn event, but no Poochy. Doing pretty good on Hoenn Legendaries, though I definitely wouldn't mind a Ray with better stats (or two).

On overall progress I just hit halfway through Lv38, and my dex is at 351/362.

Hurray for a good day! Ohh - shiny Swablu - do you have the candy to evolve it?

I do, but Swayellow is kinda cute, I dunno. I actually got so much candy during the Hoenn event I already evolved a regular Altaria and have more than 400 left.

I also have an unevolved shiny Aron, bc it's cuter that the evolutions. If I ever get a second I'll evolve one all the way. Was so happy when I just barely managed to get three Dratini so I can keep one of each; shiny Dragonair is just the most gorgeous thing.
