Hey trainers!

Niantic announced that they will be rolling out Gen 3 pokemon later this week. In addition, they will be adding a "weather" feature that incorporates your local weather into the game. (This is what I've been wanting since I first started playing.) Certain pokemon types will show up more often depending upon current weather conditions.

Huh. Part of me's intrigued about the weather thing, and part of me's like "encouraging people to go out in bad weather might be a bad idea"...

They've thought of that, although the method to prevent it is a little rough. Basically whenever there's a local weather alert the weather is overridden by the "extreme" condition, and nothing has bonuses. Unfortunately for where I am, we've had a winter storm watch on since yesterday which triggers this, so we've barely gotten to play with the weather system at all. Admittedly roads were a little slippy last night, but they're fine in today's light flurries. Ah well. Boosted steel/ice types from the snow sure would be nice if this warning ever lifts, though.
