How lucky I've been collecting 10km eggs :) I had 6 of them, just hatched (with the lucky egg). And a good hatch, too - 3 Larvitars (I guess these eggs were from the last event), 1 Chancey, 1 Snorlax. And 1 Mantine, so 5 good mons out of 6.

Oh geez, I didn't realize the egg hatch bonus was 5x. It's too hot for that much walking! D:

At least there's finally enough Swinubs that I can stockpile candy for Mamoswine in Gen4. And hopefully catch one with actually good stats and level. Also trying to get some more Sneasel candy for its eventual evo, but it's still a bit uncommon.

woot! fire types are really under-represented in my local areas, so I'm having *a lot* of fun with them! (I caught a houndour! I've never even seen one or a houndoom before!)

I'm not seeing a lot of ice, though, and was wondering if they were doing something clever with fire in the northern hemisphere, and ice in the south?

I think it's just that there aren't as many ice types in Gen1/2 as fire. The only not-uncommon things on the ice side of this event (here anyway) are Swinub and Shellder, and the latter only gets ice on evolution. Less common, there's Seel and Sneasel, and evos of the first three, and then Jynx and Lapras which are still pretty dang rare. I think that's about it?

Whereas fire you've got Growlithe, Ponyta, Vulpix, Houndour, Charmander, Cyndaquil, rarely Magmar and Flareon, and all their evolutions.

Too bad the couldn't sneak in the Alola versions of Sandshrew and Vulpix, that'd give us some more ice. ;)
