Yesterday I took a screenshot from my house of the outline of Jigglypuff, taunting me. (Rare Pokemon appear periodically but I can never actually find them because tracking sucks.) Then as soon as I was done, Jigglypuff appeared and I caught him.

Later I decided to walk to hatch some eggs and my 10k egg hatched and I got an Eevee, which would be great except Eevees are not *that* uncommon here and it was not even a high level Eevee and come ON 10k egg.

Also, I was chasing another alleged Jigglypuff nearby and I even had incense on as I walked. Did I find a Jigglypuff? No, apparently I should have just stayed at my house for that.

Useful info I did find: the wooded path behind my house has zero Pokemon, even with incense. Which is good to know because I haven't wanted to walk there when it's dark but have been sad I couldn't find out (it's kinda pretty?) and also the nearby side road has a LOT of Pokemon sadly after the slight hill.

Has anyone else caught a high level/rare Pokemon out of the blue? Also, have people had good luck with eggs? Asking for a friend.

My favorite egg hatches so far have been my Ponyta & Growlithe. I don't see any Growlithe around here though so I don't know how I'm going to evolve it to an Arcanine either! It's got awesome stats, too. D:

I'm still hoping to hatch a snorlax from a 10km egg. It'll be a while yet though as my bag is full of 5km eggs right now, and I haven't had much chance to hunt/walk these week due to real life disasters.

Most of my egghatches so far have been, like, Bellsprouts and such. I really hope to get more Eevees this way, though; they're hard to get in my immediate area.

One bit of weirdness: Half the time, the pokemon I encounter are not ones that are showing up on the radar. I might see no Oddishes on the radar, for example, but that's what I stumble over, instead of the pidgeys that are showing up. It's odd.

I would totally give you Eevees--around here all I seem to get are them, Pidgeys and Weedles.

My last egg hatched a Charmander, though, which I hadn't had and was kind of awesome.

I've been pretty happy with most of my eggs except the rattata and weedle from 2km eggs and the goldeen from a 5km. Goldeen reminds me of a person I don't like (they have similar eyes) so it's one of my least favorite Pokemon. My first egg was a 10km that hatched into a jynx. I used to think jynx was really creepy, but somehow walking 10km for it kind of endeared it to me a bit.

Other fave eggs are my ponyta and sandshrew.

The nearby filter is so wonky - there was a mankey on there last night that was way, way down the street on pokevision while a lot of pokemon not on the tracker were much closer...

I hatched a Ponyta and a Snorlax! Both are excellent.

I also caught a Kadabra, totally unexpectedly, near the place we were eating dinner yesterday -- we all snatched out our phones to grab it, shameless nerds. And I caught a Cubone while waiting for a train -- they're not super rare, but I've never seen one in the wild before, and I love how sad the backstory is for Cubones so I was absolutely chuffed to have one.

I caught an Abra where I was eating dinner last night! (Well, in the parking lot.) XD Hilarious.

I've had some real disappointments with eggs - things like Caterpies and Rattatas which are very fairly common around here. But I've also had a Ponyta, a Charmander and a Growlithe, none of which I've seen in the wild yet, so I was really pleased with those.

My best egg hatches so far have been a high-level Lapras and a Vulpix.

I've been lucky and not hatched any Eevees yet, which I appreciate considering I've already caught over 100 of them. I'm sure that it's eventually going to happen, though, knowing my luck.

Hatched a Bulbasaur from a 2km egg. Keep hoping I'll get Charmander from one in the future. I actually haven't managed to score ANY 10km eggs, so I'm going to keep hoping for one.

Just caught a Jigglypuff on the way home and one time I found 800+ CP Jynx.

Tomorrow is LGBT Pride Fest here, so um, I might be looking for Pokemon there as well as downtown.

I caught a fairly high Onix out of nowhere, and a fairly high Clefable like right beside him (and it was a stroppy little brat about STAYING IN THE DAMN BALL too, even when I used a great ball. :|).

I also caught a Vulpix unexpectedly yesterday while out with my dad driving down to buy paint for the condo, and a Growlithe unexpectedly over by one of the parks. Also a Dratini.

I have hatched a Ponyta and a Snorlax that I was really pleased with. I am deeply annoyed by how none of my eggs give me more charmanders because I want to evolve my starter into a damn dragon. *GRUMP*

Dunno if it's good or not (I know very little about pokemon) but I did hatch a Jynx from a 10k.

It is very wtf looking.

(did catch a jigglypuff though, go me)

Is there a list somewhere of rare vs common mons?

I hatched a Mr Mime as I was walking to the bus stop and it was way too early to be faced with anything that creepy looking. Ugh.

On the other hand, I hatched a Pikachu later the same day.

Yes! Just now, on the BART parking lot, I literally ran into a 1400 CP Rhydon! Immediately captured the gym at the station with it. Whoa.
