Hello, trainers! I know I've been bad with news round-ups lately. It's partially adjusting to having a day job again and partially there not being a whole lot of news to round up.
But I've collected a handful of links, so I thought I'd break the pattern and do a mid-week news party!
Any interesting news bits from your neck of the woods?
But I've collected a handful of links, so I thought I'd break the pattern and do a mid-week news party!
- Pokémon Go has finally launched in India and other South Asian countries like Pakistan, Nepal, Bhutan, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh. The hype may have died down elsewhere, but a new wave of trainers are coming in. I can't help but find that amazing! I know India, in particular, has been really eager for the game to go live, so I hope it meets their expectations! (source)
- Speaking of hype dying down, I'm sure you've all heard the cries of PokeGo dying and how the release of Sun & Moon would destroy it. Nope. It's still making tons of money. The reality is that PokeGo is a mobile game. Its measures of success are different from other game platforms and what a lot of critics are missing is that the core demographic for PokeGo is different: casual players who don't play anything else and open the game occasionally to see if there's anything out and about. - And finally, Pokémon Go was the most popular Google search of 2016. (source)

My brother was sent to Belgium on a work trip and promptly caught Mr Mime, but I have to say I don't envy the European players that one. It looks dead creepy!

I whinged to a friend today about Pikachu being sufficiently rare in our neck of the woods (she had 1-of-1, I had 3-of-3 of which 2 were hatchlings from eggs acquired elsewhere) that...
In the next 10 minutes we saw, and caught, 3 Christmas Pikachu.

Has anyone hatched any of the new Pokemon yet? I want a Togepi desperately.

(That may or may not change because everything is prone to change.)
Pokemon Go kinda fills a gap for me as a sort of coping method because it gives me something to focus on when I'm walking (whether on break or during my commute since I have a walking commute) because it interrupts my intrusive thinking issues by giving me random moments to distract me.
(I'm not getting Pokemon Sun or Moon anytime soon. I'm still working on Pokemon X!!)
Christmas Pikachu, I have to say, seem to spawn more often and in places that haven't been Pikachu spotting places before. I've caught several already. Though there is one Pokemon that evades me and that is Ekans. I don't even know why.
