Hello, trainers!

Normally, this is where I present a list of links for you to read: about the game, about its impact in the real world, about people's reactions to it. Alas, I live in the U.S. and like many people from marginalized backgrounds who live here, I am dismayed by recent events. To put it mildly.

So. There are no links from me this week. I'll try my best to get it together by next week. This weekend, though, I open the floor to you! What are some interesting stories you've stumbled across the past few days? Uplifting and positive stories are especially welcome. I think many of us from the U.S. would appreciate seeing some light in the world.

It's been a royal bitch of a week, on a personal as well as the public front, so I've mostly been appreciating Pokemon's distractive powers, and the part where I can still play even when I can't concentrate well enough to make sense of fiction.

I hit level 29! And caught my first Snorlax (a rubbish 500cp one, but still!) and a Kabuto, so that's two new critters for the pokedex, while the bonus event wider variety of spawns seems to have broken my no-Eevees-in-my-city run.

I'm hoping to get the 7-day streak tomorrow (assuming the part where the game froze in the middle of my first catch of the day today didn't mess things up) and am appreciating the extra stardust.
