Minor Update + a random Halloween event tip

Niantic rolled out a minor update with the patch note: "minor bug fixes." I don't know what those bugs were, but if your app updates, don't be surprised.

As for the tip: nest pokemon and water spawns are not affected by the Halloween shake-up. So take advantage of the doubled candies if you're working on, say, a gyarados and have water biomes near you!

There was an instance of someone catching a ... I don't remember what the initial pokemon was but then it turned out to be a Magikarp. They thought it was a Trick or Treat feature but it might have been a bug.

Yeah, that was me. I don't know if that was a bug in the code though, since spawns are controlled server-side. Based on The Silph Road, it seemed like it was an artifact of the event going live since all reports of that happening occurred during the beginning.

Maybe someone can confirm or dispel this, but I swear the spooky spawns are not causing my phone to vibrate when they pop up. Regular pokemon (pidgeys, spearows that I encountered) were definitely making my phone buzz though. So if this is the case, keep a heads-up for silent spawns. :/

My phone doesn't always vibrate when things pop up anyway, so... *shrugs* Dunno, but maybe it's one of those bugs that were fixed!

The spooky spawns were definitely making my phone vibrate before the latest update. I do notice that my phone sometimes doesn't vibrate if a 'mon spawns while I'm catching a different one or spinning a pokestop. I'll just finish what I was doing and see that there's one standing there. I almost missed a snorlax because of this!

I had a weird bug yesterday - I looked at my Pokemon and saw I had two Magikarp, only one wonder. I thought that was odd, since I only keep multiples if there's multiple wonders, so I was about to send it off for candy, but then it hatched. *After* I'd already seen and appraised it.

Since the update I can't listen to podcasts while playing anymore. Is this part of the update or my phone being weird? Is super annoying.

I've heard people mention this but tbh, I've always had that problem. On my phone, my podcast app gets a controller on the status bar so I can restart it that way. Otherwise, I'm not sure if there's a way around that bug.

Yeah, it's always done that for me too - it would stop the audio during the loading screen, but once it was loaded I could restart the sound from the status bar or by clicking over to the app and back real fast. Now, it won't let me use the podcast app at all - the minute I click back to Pokego it stops playing entirely, including no controller on the status bar, even if pokego is already fully loaded.

(Although now I have tested, and Google Music, the FM radio app, and Spotify all still let me restart from a controller on the status bar. So I guess the next step is to try all the different free podcast apps until I find one that still works. Or figure out how to open my podcasts in Google Music.)
