Oh hey I just found this community. Slow on the uptake here.

I'm Dino, DinoBetta on PoGo, and my favorite 'mon has always been Charizard :}, favorite types are fire and rock and ground. Been playing Pokemon Go for five years-ish now, I'm getting close to level 44, however as of Monday the 8th aka the latest update, my app is completely unusable. Long story short the Niantic email 'help' bot thinks I was/am banned (I'm not) and won't actually give me any useful help, so I guess I'm just going to have to sit around and wait for the next update to drop to see if that fixes the problem.

Very annoyed that my lunch hour fun time and walks-in-the-park app is borked, especially right when an event happened.

Anyway once I can hopefully access the app again, I'll be sure to add my trainer code and good grief if there's anyone local I have so many trading tasks I need to complete, pleeeease. (I will forever be salty they don't allow long-distance pokemon trading.)

Urgh, my kingdom to be able to long-distance trade! Even for just an event!

Fingers crossed you get your account restored quickly; I had some loading issues last week, but nothing near as bad as that.

I assume you already tried downloading all assests again after the update (if it starts at all)? They somehow updated all stuff, so it needed a 1.5GB download for me after the latest update before the game had all its data again and worked with just the usual amount of lag.

I've completely uninstalled and reinstalled the app at leat three times now. I can't get logged in as my issue is that menu screens are non-responsive, which includes the 'enter your birthday' screen right at the beginning :}. Looking at the influx of reviews on Google Play, I'm not the only person experiencing this issue, but as of yet I haven't heard of Niantic addressing it.

That remote trade possibility info looks promising! Very excited!

I have heard that the Niantic Bot is always unhelpful, but haven't dug into it more than that. r/SilphRoad is usually a source of good information.

Remote trade would allow me so much trading! Most of my friends are remote!

I'm not on Reddit so I never think to check there, but I'll give it a browse.

The only local PoGo friends who I actually know IRL are not into it enough for me to convince to trade pokemon. :< Been saving so many duplicate shinies for trading and everything...

I have no idea why they didn't include remote trading from the beginning, seeing as it's been in the core Pokemon games ever since handheld consoles had wifi capability. Instead, here we are, almost 10 years in...

Pretty sure my account's fine, it's just the way I had to contact Niantic that made their bot assume and tell me that I'm banned. At least I sure hope that's the case. We'll see when the next download rolls around.

There's a lot on Reddit, but r/SilphRoad has a lot of good PokeGo info if you can winnow out the really disillusioned folks.

And I know what you mean on the duplicate shinies. Or I could trade regular shinies with people who have the same shinies! (I have so many trash shinies. So many.) I don't want to base my social life on PokeGo events so I don't go out and hit up our local groups. I just want to trade with mhy so-distant friends.

Remote trading would make things so much easier for me to do, but also, it would be nice to do delayed trades, so that when your friend halfway across the world is awake, they can do their half, and then you can do yours when you're awake.

Hopefully, the issues regarding the Pokémon Go app resolve well.

I would certainly hope that doing trades step-wise like that to account for time zone differences would be part of remote trading. That's the only way remote trades would work.

I've come across a few theories here and there of it being a CPU issue (which I HOPE was unintentional on Niantic's part), that post has the most info I've seen and seems to confirm it. I do have a TCL phone like the commenter mentions, though I'm pretty sure mine's an even older phone. Which is still a 'newer' phone to me, I use Tracfone so I'm always several generations behind, and I upgraded from my old Samsung Galaxy specifically because that one would no longer run Pokemon Go (which Niantic DID warn about, so I had time to get everything switched on my end).

Okay, now to try out this split screen deal...
Holy moly that is INCREDIBLY tedious, but yes, it does work! I'm at least logged in now! Great find, thanks for showing me! I'll have to test the game more thoroughly tomorrow and see if I was lucky enough to get some of the other bugs people have reported recently.
