Halloween Event!

PokeGo is once again hosting an in-game Halloween event. The rewards are the same as last year's:

• doubled candy when catching, hatching & transferring pokemon


• your buddy will earn candy twice as fast

Other highlights: Pikachu will have a special hat. Your avatar can wear Mimikyu's disguise hat. And in addition to the already existing ghost pokemon, we will see some ghost types from Gen 3.

Oooh, ghosts!! :D Exciting!!

In New And Weird Bugs - anyone else unable to battle porygon in gyms? Some lucky person had one defending at a gym today, and every! single! time! I tried to battle it, the game crashed. I think it ended up being half a dozen or so attempts - there were some pokemon ahead of it originally, so I went through those a few times until they were KO'd, as well as a few attempts when it was up first.

Verra perplexing and also annoying!

I was only out and about 10 mins into the event, and I already have two shuppets (and I don't see the costume hat, but I do seem to have a nifty seasonal tshirt for my avatar) I <3 the new splash screen, too!

{edit to add: there you are, hat - I had previously assumed that this was zombie!Pikachu, not a different Pokemon entirely.... }

I went on a walk that ended up being 4km/1.75 hours and... mostly don't regret it. I might regret it tomorrow or Sunday, but not today.

I caught a fair number of Shuppet, a handful of Duskull, and even a Sableye! (Not a shiny, though apparently that's possible (!!!).) I've had a soft spot for Sableye for a looong time; it had no weaknesses in the core games prior to the introduction of Fairy type. Also I just love its design and lore and stuff. The one I caught's got crap stats, but it's in my 'dex and it's mine, and that's a decent start!

I'm also definitely loving the new load screen. Nice and creepy!
