The State of the PokeGo Trainer

Hello trainers!

It looks like the game has received a minor update, mostly addressing Korean language support. Yes, that's right. PokeGo has officially launched in South Korea! Welcome!

We are also expecting the next nest migration to happen later this week. Be on the lookout!

And since it's been a while, I'd like to have a free chat in the comments. How is your PokeGo playing going, trainers? Noticed any interesting new trends?

The loading time is killing me! It takes so long for the game to launch that half the time, I think servers are down.

Same! And the thing where it lowers the volume on whatever I'm listening to is driving me batty! I can't find a workaround except pausing music or manually adjusting the volume on podcasts.

Agree on both counts, it takes forever to load and then it pauses whatever audio I'm playing, even though I've got the sound off in Pokemon. I don't know what kind of phone you have but I have an android and I've found that if I pull down the status/notifications/whatever it's called from the top after Pokemon has loaded I can press play again and then hit clear and it will go back to Pokemon and the audio keeps playing. But it's really annoying to have to do that every single time.

I'm on an iPhone, and I can do something similar, but as you say, it's annoying.

I have an android and this is what I do too. I guess I've gotten used to it because it's always been that way for me and not a new bug. SIGH.

Haven't been playing quite as often, mostly due to the cold winter weather--I'd like to get out there and hatch some eggs soon, though. Still haven't gotten any of the new bb pokemon and I need me a magby stat.

I want an elekid! But instead I hatched a baby Jynx. Which. Eh.

Whoo! It's nice that South Korea finally has it.

As for me... these days I'm mostly working on getting all of the gold badges, since I have most of the pokemon (except for a few cases where I'm waiting to hatch something worth evolving). It's going to take... a while... to get the gold Running badge, but I'm halfway there. Only 500KM more to go! Spring can hardly come fast enough. :V

Haha! Our winter has been relatively mild overall, horrible cold snaps notwithstanding, but I can't wait for days to be longer again! It's so bad that it gets dark at 5. I want my 8PM sunsets again!

Have enough high power Pokemon I can finally reasonably expect to conquer gyms.

Losing interest as I have most of the Pokemon, and the remainder ate hard to *do* anything towards.

At this point, I'm waiting for nest rotations to gimme something worth farming to evolve those lingering pokemon.

Hooray South Korea! I wonder how they worked around the government map restrictions?

It's tourist season where I live, so all the gyms are suddenly full of Pokemon with 2800+ CP and local players (who don't have much opportunity to build up stronger or more varied Pokemon) are nowhere to be seen. But tourist season ends in two weeks and then we'll slowly chip away at the gyms again.

I was wondering about that too re: the map restrictions. I don't know if they'd ever release that sort of information.

I caught my first dratini! :D Also, eevee are actually appearing around here occasionally, which is so nice. :3

Other than that... I got my 100km badge! Given my goddamn ankle problems, I am super proud.

I finally upgraded my phone, and I think I haven't commented here since doing so. I'm able to play a lot more often now, and have leveled up to Level 18, :O

I'm still catching up on a lot of stuff. Haven't fully figured out battles yet, or even what nest migrations are.

It's fun to be able to play and actually complete actions without having the app crash!
