This in game appraisal has made me wildly more callous in culling my collection.
Except for that 10CP meowth, because he was the first one I found, he's hilarious, and I'm keeping him forever.
Anyway, the ability to appraise in game was pretty much the most exciting thing to happen around here.
I evolved a few hypnos, a couple days before the update, and while I don't think that I would have chosen different ones, it turns out that they're all a little bit garbage. But I've still got *checks* 153 drowzee candy, so the next time I catch a likely suspect, I'm all set.
I'm going on another adventure to new territory today. And I will apparently be passing through the land of Charmanders for the next two weeks, so I should be able to evolve this poor, lonely (max defense) one I hatched, soonish.
Ooh, actually. I also discovered (thanks, life in the suburbs) that if I can stop and knock over some gyms on the way home late at night, they're usually still there first thing in the morning to collect from. I'll be interested to see how the gym battle traffic changes once kids are back in school next week.
Yeah, me too -- I've been parked in two already-stacked gyms for a couple of days now, and *check* of the two additional ones I took over last night, one is still comfortably seating my Snorlax.

I'm interested in seeing that too. It might have quite an effect on how things go. In my area, there are a ton of adult players, so I wonder if it'll have that noticeable an effect.
