Happy Friday, trainers!

This has been a relatively quiet week in PokeGo news. No launches in more territories. No updates...although people are wondering if we'll see one next week!

• Niantic has begun cracking down on botters and spoofers. Contrary to rumors you might be hearing, it appears to be only botters and GPS spoofers. People who claimed to have been banned for using IV checkers were later revealed to be spoofers. (source)

• Some of you might be aware of the horrible flooding that hit Louisiana. I hope our community members who live in Baton Rouge and Lafayette are all right! I know at least one of you does but I also know you're safe because you've checked in. I hope that is true for others. At any rate, Pokémon for Progress is organizing an item collection drive this Sunday. Spread the word, if you're inclined. (event info)

Hi, I'm one of the Baton Rouge people! Home flooded but family is safe and we have temporary housing. We were way over our data limit so I didn't try to play PokeGo, ahahaha, plus we were using phones for Grown-Up Emergency Communications. There was some chaos earlier during the flood because AT&T went down. We use Verizon so we were okay, but it affected some friends of ours.

I actually dreamt one night that I was playing PokeGo and the Pokemon kept escaping. I can't even catch a break in my dreams, haha.

I wonder if there are a lot more water Pokemon in the area...[*]

I've heard of a glitch where you can drop an egg in a gym and keep it (the gym) forever. I don't recommend doing so, as it's a jerk move and cheating. But I do recommend reporting it to Niantic if you find anyone doing anything like that: https://support.pokemongo.nianticlabs.com/hc/en-us/requests/new?ticket_form_id=319928. Hopefully it will be fixed soon.

Finally hatched a Charmander so I have all three starters.

Also found a Rhyhorn spawning spot in a city park. I've caught a Rhyhorn each time I've gone there.

Planning on going to the island tonight to try and make way on harvesting Magikarp candies. This time I'm going to be prepared with a portable charger.
